Introduction and Aims

There's a huge demand for renewable energy as of now, with climate change concerns and the depletion of fossil fuel, there's an urgent need for sustainable alternatives. Among these, solar power is a popular method to sustain clean to clean energy. However, traditional fixed solar panels often fall short in maximising energy capture, as their stationary nature prevents them from fully harnessing the sun’s energy throughout the day. Recognising this challenge, our team set out to develop a more efficient solution, a dual-axis sun-following solar panel that continuously adjusts its position to track the sun’s movement across the sky, optimising energy absorption in real-time. By dynamically adapting to both the horizontal and vertical shifts of the sun, our design significantly enhances energy output compared to conventional fixed panels. In today’s world, where energy efficiency is crucial for both economic and environmental sustainability, solar trackers present an impactful way to increase the viability of solar power. Through this blog, we aim to document our journey, share insights, and highlight the significance of solar tracking technology in shaping the future of renewable energy.
